Dr. Adam Petway

Dr. Adam Petway

Dr. Adam Petway comes to West Chester Track and Field after previously serving as the Director of Athletic Performance for the Washington Wizards in the NBA. He will serve as an assistant track and field coach for jumps, with an emphasis on horizontals, as well as work with Golden Rams athletes in strength and conditioning programs, rehabilitation and biomechanical assessment and analysis for sprints, jumps and hurdles. 

Prior to Washington, Petway served as the Biomechanist/Strength & Conditioning coach for the Philadelphia 76ers, and previously the Director of Strength and Conditioning coach for University of Arkansas basketball. Petway is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, holds a PhD in Sports Science and High-Performance Sport, and teaches at the collegiate level. His thesis research was focused on neuromuscular profiling and match-play demands in elite basketball populations and has been the corresponding author on several peer-reviewed publications related to these topicsDr. Petway and his family reside in the Philadelphia area.
