Laurence Messler begins his fifth year on the West Chester University athletics staff as the Assistant Sports Information Director. He assists the Sports Information Director in the coverage of various sports while also coordinating all digital media content creation, supervision of graduate assistants and work study and the execution of the school's awards programs both nationally and regionally as well as within the athletic department.
He oversees the Sports Information Department's web streaming endeavors, personally producing close to 100 athletic events per year while streaming them on the PSAC Digital Sports Network. He has become an expert in "New Media" within the Sports Information field and serves as the department's contact for those areas.
Messler, who most recently served as the Sports Information Director at his alma mater - Immaculata University - for two years, is in the midst of his second stint with the Golden Rams after serving as a graduate assistant in the Sports Information office from August 2017 until June 2019.
During his two years at Immaculata, Messler served as the primary contact for all 22 of the Mighty Macs' varsity sports while also serving on several University committees and task forces. Messler also assisted in the launch of the Atlantic East Network, overseeing broadcast efforts for the Mighty Macs throughout his time at IU.
Messler, a Cream Ridge, N.J., native, holds his bachelor's of science degree in Exercise Science-Sport Management with minors in Business Administration and HR from Immaculata University in May 2017. He earned his Master’s of Public Administration with certificates in Athletic Administration and Administration from West Chester University in May 2019.
