West Chester senior quarterback Bill Zwaan was named the league's offensive player of the week in the Eastern Division it was announced by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference on Sunday afternoon.

Zwaan tied a career high with five touchdown passes in West Chester's 49-21 victory over Clarion.  Zwaan was 14-of-19 for 354 yards, highlighting the second-highest passing yards performance in a game by Zwaan during his career. He was 10-of-14 for 251 yards and four touchdowns in the first half alone. Four of his five touchdown strikes went for longer than 30 yards.

It marks the second time this season that a West Chester football player has been recognized by the league, but the first offensive award winner. Defensive End Vlad Garbovsky was a defensive winner in the first week of the season.

The Golden Rams scored 35 points in the first half Saturday en route to their fourth straight win over Clarion in as many years. West Chester, under the direction of Zwaan, is averaging 50 points per game over its last four home tilts at John A. Farrell Stadium .
