Shipp led West Chester with six tackles, including a pair of sacks and forced a fumble to lift the Golden Rams over Bloomsburg, 33-22.  He also recorded a safety in the first five minutes of the first quarter to allow the Golden Rams’ offense to jump out to a 19-7 lead in the first half on Saturday.

The sophomore was a part of a disruptive front seven that limited Bloom to 75 yards rushing and 181 yards total. They combined for eight quarterback hurries, four sacks, and provided pressure to cause Blooms QB to throw three interceptions on the day.  

For his efforts, second-year defensive end was recognized as the PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week. He is the fourth Golden Ram overall and second defensive player on the team to receive the award this year. His performance guided WCU into a three-way tie with Shippensburg and Bloomsburg for first place in PSAC East Division with three games to play.
