Joe Zirolli (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) had a huge week for West Chester as he registered eight hits, six runs scored, 11 RBI, and four home runs over the course of a 3-2 week for the purple and gold. Zirolli began his week on Thursday afternoon opposite Chestnut Hill when he went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, five RBI, and a pair of home runs to lead West Chester to a thrilling 16-14 victory over its hosts. On Saturday afternoon at Millersville, Zirolli continued to produce as he finished the doubleheader with three hits, a run scored, and two RBI with one of his three hits being a home run that provided the Golden Rams only offense in the game one defeat. On Sunday afternoon, Zirolli continued to swing a hot bat as he recorded a pair of hits while scoring two runs and driving in four more with yet another home run in the Golden Rams thrilling comeback victory in game one on the twinbill. Zirolli’s efforts proved to be crucial in enabling West Chester to pick up a split with Millersville and in doing so snap the Marauders PSAC East winning streak and series sweeping streak.
