West Chester University sophomore Caroline Lewis (West Chester, Pa./WC East) placed fifth in the heptathlon with 5,071 points at the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships inside Javelinas Stadium on the campus of Texas A&M-Kingsville. Lewis earned her first All-America citation in the outdoor season, after taking home two All-America certificates at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in February. The local product from nearby West Chester East High School finished the second day of the heptathlon strong with a runner-up showing in the long jump and a third-place finish in the 800m. Her 5,071 points in the heptathlon was just 14 shy of her personal best set earlier this year at the Mondshein Multi's at Kutztown University. She was only six points shy of Elisah Ulseth from Queens University of Charlotte (N.C.).
