WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Kelly Wrobel registered nine kills and Betha Cureton posted eight to pace host West Chester to a 3-0 sweep over visiting Cheyney Tuesday night at Hollinger Field House (30-5, 30-9, 30-6).
West Chester (25-9, 5-4 PSAC East) earned its 25th win of the fall season – the second most in a single season by the Golden Rams volleyball program. Cheyney (0-16, 0-9) remains winless on the year.
All 14 eligible players saw action for West Chester as head coach Kassie Bellaver gave her women ample playing time during the 47 minute match.
Lisa Yeasted finished with 27 assists and 19 of the squad’s 27 service aces for the match. Jacqueline Vivanco led the Golden Rams with 14 digs.
West Chester will host a triangular volleyball match on Saturday as the Golden Rams honor their senior class on Senior Day. West Chester must wait to find out the result of the Millersville-East Stroudsburg match Tuesday night to see if it clinches the third and final playoff spot.
An East Stroudsburg win clinches that postseason bid for the Golden Rams. A Millersville win would force West Chester to defeat the Marauders on Saturday in the final league contest of the regular season.
