WEST CHESTER, Pa. – In a closely contested, opening match in men’s soccer, the Golden Rams of West Chester fell to the Senators of Davis and Elkins, 1-0.
For the Senators, Makesi Bostic scored the game’s only goal 2:31 into the contest off of a corner kick from Brett Keatley. It was one of four shots on goal in the game for Bostic.
In a game that saw a lot of physical action and some missed opportunities for the Golden Rams (0-1), the team showed that they had a never say die attitude. Forward Frank DeMas tallied three shots, including a header that went just wide in the 37th minute.
Alex Inman added two shots, including an attempt off a breakaway that went wide in the 61st minute. Zac Tassone factored in two shots. Goalie Garret Santora played the first half, giving up the game’s only goal, with a save as well. Todd Deiter played the second half without allowing a goal.
Senators’ goalie Tim O’Toole played 84:52 before suffering an injury to his finger. He was replaced by Joel Richardson, who was not called upon to make a save in his 5:08 of action.
West Chester will be in action tomorrow at 3:30 when they host Goldey Beacom. This game will be played at Farrell Stadium.
