WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Jackson Fagan rushed for 107 yards and Mike Washington tied an NCAA record and set a conference mark, helping host West Chester to a 17-7 victory over visiting C.W. Post in a PSAC East Division football game in front of 2,015 fans at John A. Farrell Stadium Saturday night.
Washington caught six passes for 89 yards and a touchdown in the win, tying the NCAA Division II record for consecutive games with a reception. The senior wide receiver has caught a pass in all 44 games in which he has participated. He also has 4,122 career yards receiving, surpassing the PSAC record previously held by East Stroudsburg’s Evan Prall.
Fagan registered his second straight 100-yard effort in the win.
West Chester’s defense registered six sacks and yielded 245 yards of total offense to the Pioneers with 165 of those coming on Post’s final three drives. Junior LB Mike Dell posted a game-high 14 tackles. Travis Ford-Bey recorded nine tackles, including 2.5 sacks and a QB hurry.
Ryan Paulson caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Wright in the first quarter, and Washington hauled in a 2-yard score in the third to give West Chester a 14-0 advantage.
C.W. Posts’ Anthony Parris caught a 14-yard TD strike from Nick Georgetti towards the end of the third quarter to pull the visitors to within a touchdown. However, Alex Walsh kicked a 33-yard field goal in the fourth to put the game away for the Golden Rams.
