WEST CHESTER, Pa.
- West Chester University puts its undefeated league record on the line Saturday night against new PSAC foe C.W. Post as the Golden Rams look to take another step towards a showdown with No. 6 Bloomsburg the first weekend in November. Kickoff at John A. Farrell Stadium is set for 6 p.m.

The Golden Rams are receiving votes in the latest AFCA Division II coaches’ poll for the third straight week, after being ranked the previous 18 weeks dating back to 2006. C.W. Post enters Saturday’s tilt looking to even up its PSAC ledger and move up the standings. The Pioneers are trying to halt a personal two-game losing streak as they complete a two-game road trip in divisional play.

West Chester is riding a season-high three-game winning streak with all three triumphs coming within the PSAC. Last Saturday, the Golden Rams took down East Stroudsburg, 34-24, with a second half comeback, handing the Warriors their first loss of the season on its homecoming weekend. Senior wide receiver Mike Washington set the conference record for career touchdown receptions (51) with two scores while also going over the 4,000 yard mark in career reception yards. For his efforts, Washington was named the loop’s offensive player of the week in the Eastern Division for the second time this year.

West Chester begins a three-game homestand this Saturday with Shippensburg headed to town next Saturday for homecoming and then Cheyney visits on Oct. 25 in the final regular-season home game of 2008. The Golden Rams are ranked seventh in Super Regional One in the first Division II regional rankings of the year. Six teams from the region will be selected for the NCAA Division II national tournament. There are four super regions with six teams each selected to participate, making up a 24-team field. The first two seeds in each region receive a bye in the first round.
