West Chester Falls To Shippensburg In PSAC Quarterfinals, 3-1

Yeasted posts triple-double in final college match

Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
- Senior Lisa Yeasted posted a triple-double in her final college match, but it was not enough for second-seeded West Chester to overcome third-seeded Shippensburg in a PSAC quarterfinal-round match Tuesday evening inside Hollinger Field House.

West Chester (24-10) dropped its third straight playoff game in the first round of the PSACs. Shippensburg (22-15) advances to the conference semifinals, which will be held this weekend in California (Pa.).

The win marked the second time in four days that the Raiders came into Hollinger Field House and left with a win. Shippensburg defeated West Chester in the regular-season finale, 3-1, last Saturday.

Yeasted recorded 10 kills, 12 digs and 35 assists in the loss. Megan Musselman led the team with 13 kills. Jenna Burd and Lacie Becher each registered seven. Lisa Campbell led West Chester with 31 digs. Becher posted five blocks.

The Golden Rams hit .375 in the second set to knot things up at one apiece and breathe life into a large playoff crowd. However, the Raiders responded by hitting better than .300 in each of the next two sets.

West Chester rallied in the fourth set when the Rams trailed 17-9. The hosts rattled off six straight points to draw within 17-15. But, Shippensburg answered with a rally of its own to close out the match.

The Golden Rams end the 2008 campaign with the loss. West Chester has put together two straight 20-win seasons.
