West Chester, Pa. – Four West Chester swimmers were double-winners in the pool as the Golden Rams swam past Bloomsburg 146-111 at Graham Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.
Tommy Rhoads, Calvin Starosta, Kenny McCormick, and Max Bernardes were all double-winners for West Chester, who moves to 2-1 on the season with the victory.
Rhoads was a winner in the 200-yard (1:48.03) and 500 freestyle (4:53.91). Starosta was victorious in 100 (55.01) and 200 (2:01.04) backstroke. McCormick took the top spot in the 100 (1:01.09) breaststroke and the 100 (48.52) free. Bernardes took first in the 50 (22.64) free and the 200 (2:16.11) breaststroke.
Freshman Jim Mahoney was also an individual winner for the Golden Rams, taking the 100 butterfly in at time of 59.50.
The Golden Rams were also victorious in the 400 yard medley relay (3:38.81) behind strong swims by Starosta, Rhoads, Bud McLernan, and Phil Luzny.
