West Chester Cruises Past Lincoln, 75-38

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Four West Chester players contributed double-digit scoring as the Golden Rams’ women’s basketball team defeated Lincoln University, 75-38, in the Carol Eckman Classic inside Hollinger Field House Friday evening.

West Chester (6-0) dominated from the start, opening the game on a 24-4 run. Lincoln (2-5) seemed overmatched against the high-power Golden Rams’ offense, which shot 44 percent from the field in the game.

Senior Natalie Winters led West Chester with 13 points off the bench on 4 of 5 shooting in just 11 minutes of play. Winters was also 3-for-4 from beyond 3-point range and swiped three steals.

Renata Neal and Allison Hostetter each had 12 points. Neal shot a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor in the game. Hostetter grabbed 12 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. Ashley Loper recorded 10 points and three rebounds.

West Chester scored the first eight points of the game behind 3-pointers by Jill Keefer and Megan Stewart and never looked back. The Golden Rams led by 21 (36-15) at the half.

West Chester got strong contributions off its bench once again behind Winter’s 13 points. The WCU bench outscored the Lady Lions by a 35-8 margin.

Lincoln’s Dejuana Mosley led all scorers with 16 points and 13 rebounds in 33 minutes. Lincoln shot just 21 percent from the field and was 0-for-10 from beyond the 3-point arc.

West Chester is back at it tomorrow afternoon in their second game in the Carol Eckman classic as the Golden Rams face the Griffins of Chestnut Hill at 4 p.m.
