West Chester Falls To Cheyney, 64-57

Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
– Kenneth St. George scored 17 points, but host West Chester fell to cross-town rival Cheyney, 64-57, on Wednesday night in a PSAC East men’s basketball clash at Hollinger Field House.

Ralph Hegamin added 15 points and six rebounds for the Golden Rams, who fell to 14-8 (5-4 PSAC East) on the season.

West Chester got off to a slow start, falling behind 8-2 with 13:34 to go in the first half, and they would eventually trail 26-20 at the half. But determination and perseverance got the Rams right back in the game. The Rams went on a 13-4 run to open the second half, building a 35-30 lead with a little over 15 minutes to go in the second half.

However, the Wolves (14-6, 7-2 PSAC East) combination of Dominique Curry (14 points, 15 rebounds) and Tyrone Smith (18 points, two rebounds) seemed to be too much for the Golden Rams to overcome.

Sam Scott added seven points and 11 hard-earned rebounds. Kehinde Roberts also poured in 14 points and three rebounds, including four baskets from beyond the 3-point arc.

West Chester hits the road for Bloomsburg on Saturday at 3 p.m.
