BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Dana Weems scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, but host Bloomsburg shot 63 percent from 3-point range in the second half to erase an eight-point deficit and snap a 13-game losing streak to West Chester with a come-from-behind 63-61 victory Saturday afternoon in a PSAC East women’s basketball contest.
Bloomsburg (9-14, 1-9 PSAC East) earned its first league win of the season. West Chester (16-7, 8-2) still maintains its current hold on first place in the standings.
Renata Neal scored 11 points off the bench for the Golden Rams, and Megan Stewart scored 10 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists while recording four steals.
West Chester will travel to second-place Kutztown on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. for a critical encounter with the Golden Bears that now becomes a battle for the top spot on the leaderboard.
