West Chester Women Move Past East Stroudsburg, 82-55

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa.
– Janelle Garber and Megan Stewart led four starters in double figures with 15 points each as visiting West Chester University easily outdistanced host East Stroudsburg, 82-55 in a PSAC East women’s basketball contest inside Koehler Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon.

West Chester improves to 13-6 overall and 3-3 in the PSAC East while East Stroudsburg falls to 3-16 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

Stewart contributed five assists and six steals to her 15-point afternoon. Allison Hostetter scored 14 points, and Dominique Adams netted 11.

The Golden Rams outscored the Warriors 45-32 in the second half to put the game out of reach. West Chester shot 47 percent for the game to East Stroudsburg’s 33 percent. The Warriors shot just 28 percent in the first half, making only seven baskets.

West Chester opened the second half on a 21-4 run during the first eight minutes to boost its lead to 33 (60-27). Garber poured in 10 of her 15 in that run while Stewart and Hostetter each added six apiece. East Stroudsburg turned the ball over 11 times in that eight-minute span. The Warriors finished with 31 turnovers for the game.

Garber and Alex Lennon each pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Golden Rams. Lennon grabbed four offensive boards.

DeAnna Rayam led East Stroudsburg with 11 points and seven rebounds.
