WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Jackson Fagan scored three rushing touchdowns and Rondell White amassed 217 all-purpose yards as host West Chester escaped John A. Farrell Stadium with a 48-34 victory over a determined Cheyney squad before 2,450 fans Saturday night in a PSAC East football showdown.
Mike Mattei was 9-for-15 for 205 yards a touchdown and an interception for West Chester before leaving the game after re-injuring his throwing shoulder. Sean McCartney finished up and went 6-for-11 for 91 yards and a TD.
West Chester trailed 21-20 at the half, but scored three second half touchdowns off Cheyney turnovers to avoid the upset.
