WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Megan Stewart and Allison Hostetter each posted 15 points as the West Chester University women’s basketball team opened its 2010-11 season with a 93-48 victory over visiting Wilmington University Saturday afternoon inside Hollinger Field House.
West Chester (1-0) took control of the game early and never looked back in its win over Wilmington (0-1).
In addition to her 15 points, Hostetter pulled down 11 rebounds and chipped in six assists. Stewart also had five rebounds and five assists. Jillian Keefer contributed 14 points with three assists and eight rebounds.
West Chester ran out to 34-point lead at the end of the first half, 48-14. Wilmington tried to close the gap with a short run at the beginning of the second half, but West Chester kept a 40-point lead throughout most of the second half.
Danielle Thomas led Wilmington with 21 points.
West Chester’s next action comes this Tuesday on the road at University of Sciences at 6 p.m.
