MISENHEIMER, N.C. - West Chester University opened its 2010 women's lacrosse season with a 14-12 victory over host Pfeiffer University during its spring break trip to North Carolina on Saturday.
Jackie Hoover and Claire Grimwood each registered a hat trick in goal. Grimwood finished with an assist as well to post four points in the win. The Golden Rams trailed 8-6 at halftime, but used an excellent second half effort to pull out the season-opening win.
Nicole Haines scored twice and Erin Oczkowski netted two goals as well for the Golden Rams.
Mackenzie O'Keefe made nine saves in goal for West Chester in her first college start in goal.
