PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - West Chester received goals from three different players en route to a 3-1 non-league men's soccer victory over host Holy Family Tuesday afternoon.
Jason March and Tyler Fettrow staked the Golden Rams (4-6-2) to a two-goal lead by halftime, and then added another from Kevin McCann in the second half before Holy Family (7-3-1) could get on the board. West Chester has won each of its last two games and three out of its last five.
Garrett Bleiler (3-2-1) went the distance in goal, making five saves, to pick up the win. His counterpart, Mark Ferretti (7-3-1) made three saves in the loss.
The Golden Rams controlled much of the play throughout the first half, holding a 10-5 advantage in shots. March broke the scoreless tied in the 15th minute with his first collegiate goal. Fettrow added his third of the season in the 29th minute, and West Chester was well on its way to back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
McCann scored in the 50th minute to extend the margin to three goals. Holy Family's Dodji Freitas broke up the shutout bid in the 69th minute.
West Chester takes on Mercyhurst Friday at 3:30 p.m. after the women's game on South Campus.
