Five Things to Know:
- West Chester fell to East Stroudsburg on Wednesday afternoon by a 1-0 final on Rockwell Field after starting its homestand with a 1-0 victory over Bloomsburg on Rockwell Field last Saturday afternoon. A 63rd-minute penalty kick made the difference for East Stroudsburg as Owen Rennie buried a chance from the spot after being fouled just after entering the box, and the Warriors, led by four saves from Phil Sykes, held on for a 1-0 win over the Golden Rams.
- Lukas Bentsen (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and Peter Tichy (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) are tied for the team lead in goals with three each. Bentsen also has one assist and leads the team in scoring with seven points. Jaden Howard (Townsend, Del./Middletown) is 2-2-1 in goal with a 0.91 goals-against average and 30 saves in 495 minutes of action. The senior keeper has two shutouts this season, including an important shutout against Bloomsburg in the home opener on September 19, which earned him PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week honors.
- Shepherd enters play on Saturday in the midst of a four-game unbeaten streak, including a 2-1 win over Shippensburg and a 1-0 win over Lackawanna in between a 1-1 draw at ESU and a 2-2 draw at Bloomsburg on Wednesday night. On Wednesday, Shepherd was under 10 seconds away from a 2-1 victory over the Huskies for what would have been its third straight win, but Andrew Beagle finished a bouncing ball in the box to lift the Huskies to a 2-2 draw after Reyes Torres had given the Rams a 2-1 lead with just over six minutes to play.
- Josh Petty leads Shepherd in scoring with three goals for six points on the year, while Moulay El Yagouti is second in goals with two of his own for four points on the season. Harry Booth and Josue Guzman are tied for second on the team in points with four each, with a goal and two assists on the year. Aidan Houck is 4-1-3 in goal with a 1.00 goals-against average and 39 saves in 720 minutes of action over his eight starts.
- West Chester improved to 11-5-0 since 2009 with a 2-0 road victory over Shepherd in the series finale against the Rams in West Virginia last October. This victory came after a 2-1 loss to Shepherd on Rockwell Field earlier in the 2025 season, the Golden Rams' first home loss to the Rams since October 2011.
