Five Things to Know
  1. West Chester captured a share of its first PSAC East Regular Season crown since 2018 on Thursday afternoon with a dominant 3-0 win over Shepherd. Maksym Komperda (Whitehall, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) recorded a first-half hat trick, becoming the first Golden Ram to record a hat trick since Doug Goitia in 2018 against Pitt-Johnstown, while Jaden Howard (Townsend, Del./Middletown) made six saves to record his seventh win and eighth shutout of the season.
  2. Entering the PSAC Tournament, Komperda has eight goals and an assist to his name for 17 points, while Peter Tichy (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) has four goals and five assists for 13 points after adding a pair of assists in the win on Thursday. In league action, Komperda has six goals, including four against Shepherd as he scored the game-winner in both meetings with the Rams, while Tichy has three goals and four assists for 10 points of his own. In goal, Howard is 7-3-4 overall with a 0.69 goals-against average and eight shutouts, while playing to a 6-3-1 record with a 0.50 goals-against average and seven shutouts in league matches.
  3. West Chester has not missed the PSAC Tournament under head coach Michael Benn since 2015 as the Golden Rams make their 12th appearance under Benn and are in search of their 10th semifinal appearance and potentially its third PSAC Championship game appearance as the team continues its hunt for its first PSAC Championship. Benn is 6-7-5 in PSAC Tournament games since 2013 and will play his fifth home quarterfinal on Sunday afternoon after defeating Lock Haven 1-0 at home last season. Benn is 5-1-2 at home in the PSAC Tournament, with his first and only home loss being a home setback against Millersville in 2021.
  4. Seton Hill enters play on Sunday at 7-5-6 overall and 5-2-3 in league action after playing to a scoreless draw at Slippery Rock on Thursday afternoon. Seton Hill is 1-1-2 in its last four games of the regular season, including a 2-0 loss to Gannon in its home finale on Saturday, along with a 2-1 win over California and a 1-1 draw against Lock Haven on October 17. The Griffins faced a PSAC East foe during non-league play earlier this season, hosting Shepherd on August 30th and playing to a 1-1 draw against the Rams in that matchup. Rafael Santos is the Griffins' leading scorer with six goals and eight assists for 20 points, while Ben Conti has five goals and an assist for 11 points of his own. James Aubrey has added four goals and an assist for nine points. In goal, Jannik Reiss is 7-4-6 with a 1.09 goals-against average and four shutouts with 56 saves in 1480 minutes of action.
  5. West Chester is 4-1-1 against Seton Hill since 2013 and has never lost to Seton Hill in West Chester, although the two sides have not met since a 1-1 draw in Greensburg in October 2018. The last time Seton Hill visited South Campus was October 2017, when the Golden Rams emerged victorious 1-0 as part of a three-game winning streak in the series.
