The Golden Rams (14-3) finished second in the PSAC Eastern Division standings and earned the second seed out of the East in the postseason tournament. C.W. Post (9-7) finished third in the East and received the third seed. Regular-season champion and the nation's top-ranked program Bloomsburg (17-0) received a bye to the conference semifinals as a result of its regular-season title.
The tournament expands to six teams this year from its previous four-team format. The Pioneers wrapped up the final spot out of the East based on the third tiebreaker when East Stroudsburg defeated Millersville, 2-1, in overtime Saturday afternoon.
Out West, Indiana (Pa.) (11-6) will be the No. 2 seed and will host Slippery Rock (6-12) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Rock wrapped up the No. 3 seed Saturday with a win over IUP. Shippensburg (16-2) won the Western Division and received a bye to the conference semifinals. The Raiders will play the West Chester-C.W. Post winner in one semifinal with Bloomsburg taking on the IUP-Slippery Rock winner in the other semifinal.
For the first time in league history, the PSAC field hockey championship game will be televised live to a statewide audience. The Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) will air the PSAC field hockey tournament championship game live at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 29. The game will also be available through a live webstream on pcntv.com.
West Chester swept the regular-season series, defeating C.W. Post by a 4-1 score on Long Island and taking a 6-4 decision at home earlier this month.
