ROTTERDAM, Netherlands – West Chester University Assistant Field Hockey Coach,
Kelsi Lykens, is serving as an assistant on the USA Over-35 squad at the 2026 World Masters Hockey (WMH) World Cup which is slated to get under way on Thursday in Schiedam and Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
"Many of the women on this team have full-time jobs and are mothers," Lykens stated. "The sacrifices they've made to tryout, train and now compete at the Master's World Cup is truly inspiring. It is special to see them doing something for themselves and represent the USA at the same time."
The USA's roster of 18 women was selected in February following tryouts from all over. The ladies selected have been training ever since while also competing in the World Club Championships this past June.
Opening ceremonies for the 2026 WMH World Cup are Wednesday, July 22. The USA team opens its competition on Thursday against Australia. The United States will also take on Paraguay, England and Ireland in the opening round.
The Quarterfinals will be held on July 29 with the semifinals set for July 31. The championship match will be played on Saturday, Aug. 1, following the Bronze Medal Game, Quarterfinal runners-up and Pool B & A consolation matches.
