WASHINGTON, D.C. - Host District of Columbia scored a pair of goals 34 seconds apart late in the second half to come from behind and beat visiting West Chester, 2-1, in a non-league men's soccer tilt Tuesday afternoon in the nation's capital.
John Frederick had given West Chester (2-6-2) the lead on a penalty kick in the 28th minute, and that had stood until late in the second half when UDC (6-3-1) struck twice in the span of under a minute to capture the lead and take the wind out of the Golden Rams' sails.
Garrett Bleiler (1-2-1) suffered the loss in net for West Chester. He played the first 83 minutes and made five saves. Kevin Marron came on and went the rest of the way, making one save.
West Chester returns home on Thursday to face Concordia (N.Y.) at 4 p.m. at South Campus.
