WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Edinboro captured a win at second singles to clinch a closely contested men's tennis match and earn a 5-4 victory over host West Chester at South Campus Courts on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
West Chester (2-2) split its weekend PSAC crossover matches, having taken a 5-4 decision over Mercyhurst on Friday afternoon.
The Golden Rams claimed two of the three doubles points as Jimmy Aridas and J.J. Cooke made a dramatic come-from-behind 9-7 victory at third doubles to remain unbeaten against Division II opposition Saturday. Steve Hlava and David Goldenberg teamed up at second doubles for a hard-fought 7-5 win. Those two also provided the singles wins at fourth and fifth singles, respectively, to close out West Chester's scoring on the afternoon.
West Chester closes out its fall schedule against Chestnut Hill on Oct. 15 at home.
