Women's Soccer Falls To Slippery Rock In PSAC Quarterfinals

Box Score

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.
- Kara Mullins scored in the 69th minute, and host Slippery Rock made that stand up, as The Rock defeated visiting West Chester, 1-0, in the PSAC Quarterfinal round women's soccer match Tuesday afternoon.

Mullins took a thru ball from teammate Lucy Hannon and chipped the ball over West Chester goalkeeper Shannon Fedyk into the left corner of the goal for the lone tally of the contest that propelled Slippery Rock into the semifinals of the conference tournament.

West Chester (12-3-4), ranked sixth in the latest NCAA Atlantic Region rankings, must now wait and see if its body of work all year long is good enough for a bid to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournaement. That announcement will come on Monday, Nov. 7. The top six teams in the region qualify for the tournament. However, the PSAC, WVIAC and CIAA conference tournament champions all receive automatic bids to the NCAAs.

Fedyk (12-3-4) made two saves in the loss while Slippery Rock's Lisa Rodgers was credited with four. West Chester outshot The Rock, 11-9.
