WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Alex Lennon registered a double-double, but visiting Bloomsburg pulled away in the second half with a tremendous shooting exposition en route to a 68-47 victory over host West Chester in the regular-season finale.
West Chester (20-6, 11-3 PSAC East) saw its seven-game winning streak come to a close Saturday and finishes in a tie for second place in the league standings with Millersville. The Golden Rams will be the third seed in the upcoming PSAC Tournament and will travel to Millersville on Tuesday evening for a quarterfinal round matchup. Bloomsburg (21-5, 13-1) won the regular-season title and will host fourth-seeded Kutztown on Tuesday night.
Bloomsburg’s Dana Weiller finished with 20 points, going 6-for-9 from beyond the 3-point arc. She was 5 of 6 in the second half alone. The Huskies shot 63.6 percent (14 of 22) from the field, including 7 of 11 from 3-point range, in the second half to put up 44 points in the final 20 minutes. West Chester made just six buckets in the second half – one fewer than Bloomsburg’s 3-pointers alone – shooting 6 of 28 for a 21.4 percent effort after the break.
Lennon scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Megan Stewart scored 11 points and grabbed eight boards.
