KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Harley Williamson scored 15 points and Khalif Foster notched 11 as visiting West Chester University dropped a PSAC East men’s basketball contest to Kutztown University at Keystone Arena Wednesday evening.
West Chester (12-8, 3-9 PSAC East) trailed by two with 23 seconds left and had possession of the ball, but could not finish off Kutztown (14-7, 7-2).
Shannon Givens missed a pair of free throws with 10 seconds left in the game that would have given the Golden Rams the lead. Tamir Johnson grabbed the rebound of the second miss and then hit a pair of free throws at the other end to put the finishing touches on the three-point victory.
The Bears held on to first place in the Eastern Division standings with the narrow win. The game featured 17 ties and 16 lead changes. The largest lead of the game was seven points in the second half.
West Chester returns to action on Saturday at East Stroudsburg for a 3 p.m. tip against the Warriors.
