WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Rondell White amassed 204 all-purpose yards, and free safety John O'Donnell intercepted two passes, to lead West Chester to a 20-13 victory over visiting Slippery Rock in the 2011 home opener for the Golden Rams at John A. Farrell Stadium Saturday afternoon.

O'Donnell's second interception at the Rams' 22-yard line with 1:08 remaining in the contest sealed the win for West Chester (1-2). Sophomore RB Rondell White caught two passes for 90 yards, including a 65-yard TD reception on the Golden Rams' first play from scrimmage in the game that answered an opening TD drive by Slippery Rock.

Jackson Fagan returned a punt 49 yards for a touchdown 1:44 before halftime to give the Rams a 17-6 advantage at the break. Sophomore PK Shawn Leo kicked a pair of field goals (22, 36) for West Chester's other scoring.

Slippery Rock pulled to within seven on the first play of the fourth quarter when QB Cody Endres found Jimmy Zubik for a 12-yard TD strike. The Rock was driving late in the game when Endres overthrew his receiver and the ball landed right in the arms of O'Donnell.

West Chester returns to Farrell Stadium next Saturday night for a 6 p.m. kickoff against East Stroudsburg.
