MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - West Chester University dropped a 3-0 decision to PSAC West foe Slippery Rock in the second match of its opening day at the Marauder Clash hosted by Millersville University Friday evening.
West Chester (1-1) defeated Holy Family in an exciting five-set match earlier in the day, falling in the first two sets, before rallying for three straight wins.
Against Slippery Rock, West Chester came up on the short end of a 25-21, 25-17, 28-26 decision to The Rock.
Helen Fitzpatrick notched 25 assists, posting 69 helpers in the two matches combined Friday. Lisa Campbell had 22 digs while Julie Boblits put down 11 kills and Julia O'Brien had seven.
West Chester continues play at the Marauder Clash on Saturday with a match against Shepherd at 12 p.m.The Rams then play Bowie State at 4 p.m. and an opponent yet to be determined at 6 p.m.
