WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Lexi Kegerise registered 17 kills and Kelly Martin added another 16 as host West Chester defeated visiting Dominican, 3-1, in a non-league women’s volleyball match inside Hollinger Field House Tuesday.
West Chester (12-6) extended its winning streak to five matches with the win over Dominican (8-7).
Fresh off her athlete of the week award, Kegerise continued her strong play for the Golden Rams with a match-high 17 kills. She also added a pair of blocks and five digs to her totals. Martin posted 16 kills and a .517 hitting percentage in the win. She also registered seven blocks on the evening.
The Golden Rams cruised through the first two sets of the match winning by scores of 25-21 and 25-17. However, Dominican avoided the sweep with a 25-23 victory in the third set. West Chester rebounded with a 25-15 victory in the fourth set to close things out.
Defensively, Dana Markol contributed 17 digs while Helen Fitzpatrick recorded 16. Fitzpatrick also dished out 29 assists to finish off her double-double while Mary Faust recorded 12.
Courtney Heard had 10 kills for Dominican, and Whitney Ranger recorded 30 assists. Jordyn Fuller notched 19 digs.
West Chester hosts PSAC East rival East Stroudsburg on Friday night inside Hollinger Field House at 7 p.m.
