Rhoads and Haley Double Winners As WCU tops SCSU, 130-82

NEW HAVEN, Conn.
- Tommy Rhoads and Jared Haley were double winners on Saturday in leading West Chester University's men's swimming team to a 130-82 victory over host Southern Connecticut State University in a non-league men's swimming meet.

Rhoads won both the 200-yard freestyle and the 100 free. He clocked a time of 1 minute, 43.96 seconds in the 200 and a time of 48.77 seconds in the 100. Haley captured the 1000 free in 9:59.28 and the 500 free in 4:45.99. West Chester's men won eight events on Saturday to spark the victory.

Calvin Starosta, who won the 200 backstroke, also led off the 400 medley relay team that also took first place. Ryan Stahley, who won the 50 free and placed second in the 100 free, was also a member of the 400 medley relay winning team. The 400 medley relay team clocked a time of 3:33.72. Starosta touched the wall in 2:07.32 in the 200 back. Stahley won the 50 free in 21.98. His time of 49.13 in the 100 free was good for second.

Tyler Adams was runner-up to teammate Haley in both the 1000 free and 500 free. Adams put up a time of 10:17.75 in the 1000 while clocking a time of 5:00.34 in the 500 free.

Phil Letcavage was second in the 200 back with a time of 2:03.42.

Ryan Kuser won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 320.85. Teammate Jonas Raider was second with a 307.05. Kurt van Mol was third with a 285.97.

West Chester returns home next Friday for a non-league meet with Division I Penn at Graham Natatorium.
