SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Alexandra Lennon scored 20 points and both Allison Hostetter and Ambreelinne Ortman put up identical 15 points and 8 rebounds to lead visiting West Chester University to an 85-67 women's basketball victory over host Shippensburg in PSAC East action Wednesday evening inside Heigis Fieldhouse.
West Chester (17-6, 13-6 PSAC) remained in a tie for second place in the Eastern Division standings with the win. Shippensburg (12-11, 9-10) remain in fourth place, holding onto the final playoff spot in the standings.
The Golden Rams put four players in double figures, led by the three "A's" and Jillian Keefer's 14 points. Shamyra Hammond added six points off the bench for West Chester's second unit.
Shippensburg's Monae Baker registered a double-double for the Raiders. She scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Sarah Strybuc scored 17 points for the hosts as well.
West Chester returns home on Saturday afternoon for its annual Play4Kay Game to benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Tip-off against East Stroudsburg is set for 1 p.m. inside Hollinger Field House. All fans who wear pink to the game will be registered to have an opportunity to win great prizes throughout the contest.
