PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - While the Philadelphia area was battling whipping winds and tornado warnings, West Chester University's men's tennis squad moved its non-league match indoors to the Legacy Youth Tennis & Education Center where the Golden Rams dropped a 7-2 decision to Philadelphia University Tuesday afternoon.
Fresh off a strong showing at the 2012 PSAC Individual Championships over the weekend, West Chester dug itself a hole in the doubles competition and could not recover.
PhilaU swept the doubles play by scores of 8-3, 8-5 and 8-5 at first, second and third doubles, respectively.
The PhilaU Rams also won the first three singles. West Chester captured fourth and sixth singles singles in straight sets.
West Chester will be back in action on Friday when the Golden Rams travel to University of the Sciences.
