Box Score 2 WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University's women’s volleyball team fell to visiting California (Pa.), 3-0, dropping three games by scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-12 in the PSAC crossover match Saturday inside Hollinger Field House.
Seniors Allison Grammer and Kelly Martin led the way for West Chester with five kills apiece. Lexi Kegerise and Julia O’Brien also had four kills in the loss. Mary Faust led WCU in assists with 11. Senior Morgan Litak led WCU’s defense with 13 digs. Kegerise chipped in with four assisted blocks at the net.
In the second PSAC crossover game of the afternoon, the Golden Rams fell to Indiana (Pa.) in four sets 25-18, 25-17, 21-25, 25-21 dropping their record to 9-9 overall.
Lexi Kegerise had a strong game finishing with 12 kills, two aces and seven digs. O'Brien contributed with eight kills and Cara Reese, Allison Grammer and Marina Sharkey each dropped six kills apiece for WCU in the loss. Litak and Dana Markol led the improved defensive effort with 13 and nine digs, respectively. The defense, as a unit, finished with 10 blocks at the net.
The Golden Rams continue their homestand this Friday when they face East Stroudsburg at 7 p.m. in a conference battle.
