Meet Results

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester University's men's swimming & diving squad swept its tri-meet against visiting Bloomsburg and Division I foe Lehigh Saturday evening inside Graham Natatorium. West Chester topped Bloomsburg, 190-47, while beating Lehigh, 134-107.

The Golden Rams got three wins from Russian exchange student, Victor Polyakov, who won the 200-yard freestyle, 200 Individual Medley and 100 free. His time of 46.65 seconds in the 100 free was the fastest time in the fall semester in school history. He swam a 1:56.20 in the 200 IM without much rest following the 200 free, which he touched out in 1:42.15.

Off the diving boards, Christian Parker was a double winner with Zach Burns finishing runner-up on the 1-meter board and Tim Cenjia taking second on the 3-meter board. Parker won the 1-meter competition with a score of 345.6 and captured the 3-meter with a score of 358.8.

Michael O'Brien won the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:57.71 while Bogdan Grebenyuk won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:09.72.

"O'Brien had a really strong meet tonight," WCU head coach Jamie Rudisill commented. "All-around, I thought it was a very good meet. Victor swam some events that he will not normally swim. But, we needed his points in those events."

West Chester's divers will be back in action next weekend when they take on Rowan in a dual meet. The swimmers will not be back in the pool until the Rutgers Invitational right before Thanksgiving.
