SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - West Chester University's women's volleyball squad dropped a 3-1 non-league volleyball decision on the road Tuesday evening to host Shepherd University.
West Chester (13-13) opened up with a 25-16 victory in the first set. However, the Golden Rams dropped the next three sets to Shepherd by scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-18.
Tyler Shaefer recorded a team-high nine kills while Julia O'Brien registered seven kills. The Golden Rams hit .308 in the first set, knocking down 11 kills against just three errors. However, the visitors could not find that kind of efficiency the rest of the match, registering a high hitting percentage of just .032 in any of the rest of the sets.
Tori Hutchinson posted 18 assists while Samantha Agostini notched 14 as well. Callie Krajcir recorded 14 digs to lead the Golden Rams defensively. O'Brien added five blocks to her seven kills.
West Chester hosts Millersville and Shippensburg this weekend in another very important PSAC weekend.
