Golden Rams Volleyball Rallies to Five Set Victory in Millersville.

Box Score MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Trailing two sets to zero and facing the proposition of a seventh straight defeat, West Chester University volleyball found a way to dig deep and turn the match around, eventually coming away with a 3-2 five-set Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference triumph Saturday afternoon in Millersville.

The victory is the first in league play for West Chester (9-6, 1-5 PSAC) snapping a six-match losing skid and extending its winning streak to 15 over the Marauders, (5-8, 2-4 PSAC), who haven't beaten the Golden Rams since the 2005 season.

West Chester was victorious in five sets (25-17, 25-21, 13-25, 15-25, 6-15).

Julia O'Brien led the Golden Rams with 12 kills, Tyler Sheafer had 11, Samantha Agostini was moved to the setter position and responded with 38 assists for the match.

Defense was the key to victory, Callie Krajcir was tops on the team with 18 digs, with Dana Markol, Marina Sharkey and Bethany Gould all ending in double figures.

West Chester held Millersville to only 17 kills in the final three sets, and committed only five attack errors to aid in the come-from-behind victory.

Ericka Engler served three aces to key a 7-0 run to start the fifth set, then Julia O'Brien closed things out with three kills and an ace to complete the comeback.

The Golden Rams travel to Cheyney University of Pennsylvania on Tuesday for a PSAC battle starting at 7 p.m.
