CHEYNEY, Pa. - Julia O'Brien had 10 kills and Samantha Agostini posted 13 assists to lead visiting West Chester to a 3-0 sweep over Cheyney inside Cope Hall Tuesday evening.
West Chester (10-6, 2-5 PSAC) picked up its second straight win in conference play while Cheyney fell to 4-13 overall and 0-8 in the PSAC. The Golden Rams took the match by scores of 25-11, 25-11 and 25-9.
West Chester hit at a .464 percentage in the opening set (14 kills vs. 1 error) while posting a .600 hitting percentage in the third and clinching set (10 kills vs. 1 error). A total of 14 service aces also helped the Golden Rams secure the league win.
O'Brien hit .625 for the match, finishing without a hitting error in her 16 attempts. She also posted six blocks (3 solo, 3 assisted). Marina Sharkey finished off eight kills and new outside hitter Tyler Shaefer had five kills as well. Shaefer added 13 digs and five aces to her totals on the night.
Rachel Powers finished with a season-high seven digs for the Golden Rams. Mandy Flynn registered eight assists.
The Golden Rams travel to new PSAC East arrival Pitt-Johnstown on Thursday for a 7 p.m. match, before heading to perennial Eastern Division power Lock Haven on Friday.
