Kutztown Ends Golden Rams Season With 2-0 Win In NCAA Opener

CALIFORNIA, Pa. - Two second half goals lifted the fifth seed Kutztown to a 2-0 win over West Chester the fourth seed in the NCAA Atlantic Region women's soccer quarterfinal match played at California, Pa.
 
The Golden Rams end the 2013 season with a 13-8 record. Kutztown will take on the top seed California, Pa. on Sunday in the NCAA Atlantic Region semifinals.

The game was scoreless until the 75th minute, when Diana Malanga took a cross from Sam Costello and put a shot low in the corner to give the Golden Bears a 1-0 lead..
 
Kutztown added a second in the 83rd minute countering a West Chester attack with a two on one break.
 
Alex Srolis made five saves in the West Chester goal. Kutztown keeper Alina Rakiewicz made one save to earn the shutout.

Kutztown toook the rubber match after the teams had split a pair of games earlier. West Chester defeated Kutztown 2-1 in the opening round of the PSAC Tournament at Kutztown on Nov. 5. The Golden Bears took the first contest in September, both games played at Keystone Field in Kutztown.
