Box Score PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Eddie Mitchell scored 10 of his 23 points in overtime as visiting West Chester University downed host Philadelphia University, 90-82, Saturday afternoon inside the Gallagher Center.

Shannon Givens added 22 points for the Golden Rams (2-1), who won their second straight contest over an opponent from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) while Philadelphia University dropped to 2-2 on the year.

Cory Blake sank a three-pointer with eight seconds left in regulation to knot the score at 77-all and send the contest into the extra session. West Chester trailed the final 14 minutes of regulation until Blake's 3-ball tied the score.

Trailing 75-72 with 28 ticks left, Mitchell made a layup to cut the deficit to one. PhilaU. answered with a pair of free throws with :21 left, before Blake knocked down his 3-pointer to tie the game.

PhilaU hit a pair of free throws at the beginning of the overtime period. However, Mitchell then went on an 8-0 run all by himself, powered by a pair of 3-pointers, to give West Chester control of the game, 85-79. The Golden Rams would not relinquish that lead the rest of the way.

West Chester shot 50.8 percent from the field while PhilaU shot 43.8 percent. Though the host Rams held a 41-29 advantage in rebounds, the visiting Golden Rams actually held an 18-8 advantage on the offensive glass.

West Chester makes its home debut on Wednesday with its PSAC opener against cross-county rival Cheyney at 5:30 p.m.
