West Chester Comes From Behind To Defeat Kutztown In Quarterfinal, 2-1

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Rachel Jackson and Carly Yost scored six minutes apart midway through the first half to lift visiting West Chester to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over host Kutztown University in a PSAC Quarterfinal matchup at Keystone Field Tuesday afternoon.
 
West Chester (12-6) advances to the conference semifinals on Friday to play Gannon, who upset Slippery Rock Tuesday evening. Kutztown ends its season at 12-6.
 
Kutztown jumped out in front in the 21st minute on a goal from Taylor Higgins. However, West Chester answered back off a Lexi Lentz corner kick seven minutes later to knot the score at one. Jackson kicked in a rebound in the 28th minute. Yost followed up with a header off another Lentz corner for the final tally of the afternoon.
 
Goalkeeper Alex Srolis did the rest, blanking Kutztown throughout the remainder of the game. She made two saves, recording her 10th victory of the season.

Next up the Golden Rams travel to California, Pa. to face Gannon at 1:30 p.m. in the PSAC semifinals. Gannon defeated host West Chester 1-0 in mid September.

Cal, who shutout Mecyhurst  5-0, will host Shippensburg at 11:00 a.m., who defeated Edinboro on penalty kicks. The start times for the game's have yet to be determined.
