West Chester Heads To Shepherd For NCAA Quarterfinal

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
- West Chester University's 15th-ranked Golden Rams football squad heads to Shepherd University this weekend to play the sixth-ranked Rams in the Super Region 1 Championship in Shepherdstown, W.Va.

Tickets to Saturday's playoff game are $10 for adults and $5 for students aged Kindergarden through college. The ticket booths will open at 10 a.m.

West Chester (12-1) has reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA II Playoffs just once before, defeating East Stroudsburg, 48-38, in 2004. The Golden Rams fell to Valdosta State in the national semifinals that year. The game can be heard on WCHE 1520 AM, or on the internet at www.wche1520.com. West Chester, the third seed in Super Region 1, reached the regional championship game by defeating American International College, 38-7, in the first round and then taking down PSAC rival Bloomsburg, 40-38, on the road in the second round. Shepherd, the top seed in Super Region 1, received a bye in the first round of the playoffs and then defeated Winston-Salem State, 7-0, in the second round last Saturday.

The Comcast Network will air SPORTSfever TV Network telecast of the NCAA playoff game between West Chester and Bloomsburg on Thursday, Dec. 5 following SPORTSfever TV Network telecast of the PIAA District 3 Championship high school game between Manheim Central and Bishop McDevitt, which starts at 7 p.m. The West Chester-Bloomsburg game will follow around 9:30 or 10 p.m.
