KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Shannon Givens scored 22 points connecting on 5-8 from three point land and
Matt Wisely grabbed 15 rebounds 10 off the offensive glass, as West Chester captured a PSAC - East road victory 85-71 at Kutztown, Saturday afternoon inside Keystone Arena.
The Golden Rams (6-2, 3-1 PSAC- East), shot 9-19 from beyond the arc, and trailed only once at 17-16.
Cory Blake chipped in with 13, nailing all seven of his free-throws, as 10 Golden Rams scored in the contest. Kutztown (2-4, 1-2 PSAC – East) had four players score in double figures, led by Austin Beildeman with 16.
West Chester held a 16-6 advantage on the offensive glass and a 41-28 rebounding edge overall. The Golden Rams made 17-19 from the free-throw line in the first half, and led 54- 38 at the break. Givens was 4-5 on three's, and led the way with 17.
The Golden Bears trimmed the lead to six with 11 minutes remaining in the second half, but West Chester responded with a 14-6 run to build the lead to 14 with five minutes to play.

Tom Sharkey came off the bench to score nine, West Chester held a 22-2 advantage off the bench in the first half, and 32-10 edge in the game.
West Chester is off for finals week on campus and returns to action, with a PSAC west trip to California, Pa on Dec. 17, then take on Slippery Rock the following day. The next home game is Saturday Dec. 21 against Edinboro, in non-conference action.
