Box Score

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Senior Ambreelinne Ortman single-handedly put an end to West Chester’s four-game losing streak with a career-high 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead the visiting Golden Rams to a 59-45 victory over host East Stroudsburg in a PSAC East women’s basketball contest inside Koehler Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon.

West Chester (14-11, 11-10 PSAC) got 15 points and 11 rebounds from Ortman after halftime when the Rams had carried a slim 25-24 advantage into the break. West Chester has now won 31 of its last 34 contests against East Stroudsburg (7-18, 6-15).

For Ortman, it was just the second double-double of her career. She scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds at Mansfield in last season’s regular-season finale. Both of those marks were career bests until her performance Saturday.

Ortman was responsible for five of West Chester’s nine baskets in the second half. She also went 4-for-4 from the foul line.

Lennon scored 12 points in support of Ortman. She also tied a school record with seven blocked shots. It marked the fourth time in her career that she blocked seven shots in a contest. Lennon now has 297 blocks in her career. She is three blocks away from becoming just the 20th female to reach 300 career blocks.

West Chester shot just 27.5 percent from the field Saturday. However, East Stroudsburg mustered just a 25 percent shooting effort in return. The Warriors managed just 21 points after halftime.
