NEW YORK – The field athletes shined once again as West Chester University’s men’s track & field squad finished up competition inside the New York City Armory at the New Balance Track Center Friday afternoon.
LeQuan Chapman continued to put his talents on display in both the long jump and the triple jump, winning each event. Chapman leaped 23 feet, ½ inches in the long jump to take first place. He also leaped 47-4 ½ to win the triple jump. Jay Jabat tied for first in the high jump, clearing 6-6 ¾ on the day. Jabat was fourth in the long jump behind Chapman as well. Joey DeCecco was third in the high jump behind Jabat with a height of 6-4 ¾.
In the track events, Mark van Teyens finished sixth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.61 seconds. Nick Drozd was seventh in the 400m dash with a time of 49.90.
Dillon Wallner placed seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 44-6 ¾.
West Chester travels to the Susquehanna University Open next weekend for its final preparation before the 2013 PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in Edinboro, Feb. 23-24.
