WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Chaz Irwin picked up a win at second singles, but visiting Ursinus defeated host West Chester, 6-3, in a non-league men’s tennis match Tuesday afternoon.
West Chester (1-8) got a win at second singles from Irwin, who recorded his first win as a Golden Ram, 6-3, 6-4.
Other winners for the Golden Rams were J.J. Cooke at sixth singles, who avenged his loss to Logan Metcalf-Kelly from a year ago, 6-4, 6-3, and Cody Leimback and Wanzell Fleming at second doubles, 8-5.
Steve Hlava and David Goldenberg dropped a hard-fought 8-6 decision at third doubles as Ursinus took a 2-1 advantage into singles play.
West Chester hosts Division III foe Randolph-Macon College Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m.
