Pair Of Wins At Ram Fest Keep Volleyball Unbeaten

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Host West Chester University remained perfect on the volleyball season with another pair of wins Saturday afternoon its very own Ram Fest Tournament inside Hollinger Field House.
 
West Chester (7-0) defeated both Assumption and Chestnut Hill by identical 3-0 scores to finish the tournament 4-0 overall and 12-0 in sets. The Golden Rams, along with PSAC counterpart Shippensburg, finished the weekend unbeaten at the Ram Fest. The Raiders were 3-0 overall and 9-1 in sets played.
 
Paige Thommes led West Chester with 15 kills while Marina Sharkey posted 12 against Assumption. Bethany Gould registered 12 digs and Callie Krajcir had 11. The Golden Rams took that contest by scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 27-25. Annalee Halbert recorded 33 assists while assisting on three blocks.
 
Thommes and Sharkey once again led the way in the tournament finale against Chestnut Hill with 10 kills apiece. Allison Grammer had nine. Halbert chipped in with 33 more assists and eight digs. Gould posted 12 digs to lead the team. Tyler Shaefer had eight digs as well. Sharkey registered seven blocks.
 
West Chester hits the road for its next five contests. Next Saturday, the Golden Rams travel to Philadelphia University for a 2 p.m. match.
