Volleyball Drops Pair At PSAC Crossover

ERIE, Pa. - West Chester dropped a pair of matches at the Hammermill Center Friday afternoon, falling to Edinboro and Gannon by identical 3-1 margins in PSAC Crossover competition.

West Chester (8-2, 0-2 PSAC) saw its eight-match winning streak to open the season come to a halt while also losing freshman setter Annalee Halbert to injury in the first match of the day. Edinboro scored  a 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 25-9 victory over the Golden Rams in the first match of the day. Gannon was a 25-19, 25-27, 25-11, 25-21 winner over West Chester in the night cap.

Julia O'Brien posted six kills against Edinboro and registered 12 kills against Gannon to lead West Chester offensively. Tori Hutchinson and Mandy Flynn shared setter duties, after Halbert went down. Flynn recorded nine assists against Edinboro and 16 against Gannon, while Hutchinson had a pair of assists against Edinboro and 20 against Gannon.

Callie Krajcir registered 20 digs against Edinboro and another 22 against Gannon. Senior Tyler Schaefer posted 21 digs for the Golden Rams against Gannon as well.

West Chester will continue its trip out West on Saturday with matches against Slippery Rock and host Mercyhurst.
